Sigma Lithium Corporation, a prominent global lithium producer committed to supplying carbon-neutral, socially, and environmentally sustainable lithium concentrate for the next generation of electric vehicles, has successfully completed one year of consistent operational shipping cadence. The company has just finished trucking its eleventh delivery of 22,000t of Quintuple Zero Lithium to the port, ready for shipment this week.

The initial price is established at a premium floating rate of 8.75% of the LME Lithium Hydroxide price, quoted on an LME (CIF Shanghai basis).

On August 9, the company achieved 365 consecutive days with zero fatalities and no workday-loss accidents among its 618 employees. This flawless safety record marks a successful first year, emphasizing worker safety and health, and fostering a culture of safety and operational efficiency, inspired by Paul O'Neill's "safety habits of excellence" case study from Alcoa.

In its first year of operation, Sigma Lithium reached an operational maturity in employee safety comparable to major metals and mining companies within the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM). The company achieved a remarkable position, ranking second in the ICMM’s combined Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) and Fatalities Frequency Rate (FFR) categories, with a TRIFR of 1.25 and zero fatalities.

This marks a significant operational enhancement from the Company’s prior record of 75 days without accidents involving lost workdays as of August 2023. The Company successfully advanced its safety performance while accommodating a larger workforce of 1,510 personnel, demonstrating its capacity to manage safety effectively amidst increased staffing levels.

CEO and Co-Chairperson Ana Cabral comments: "We are thrilled to celebrate our one-year shipment anniversary with this dual milestone, highlighting our progress over the past 12 months. Our employees play a crucial role in our operational success, and their commitment has led to this impressive 365-day record without any accidents involving lost workdays. By nurturing a culture of health and safety excellence, we have not only enhanced efficiency but also strengthened our focus on margins and resilience against fluctuating lithium prices."

Sigma Lithium is a leading global lithium producer focused on supplying the next generation of electric vehicle batteries with carbon-neutral, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable lithium concentrate.
