Sigma Lithium Corp has achieved a significant milestone by successfully shipping 22,000 tonnes of its environmentally sustainable Quintuple Zero Green Lithium concentrate to Glencore at the Port of Vitoria in Brazil. This recent shipment marks the fifth of its kind for Sigma, solidifying its reputation as a key player in the realm of sustainable lithium production.

The Greentech plant, operated by Sigma, demonstrated its operational prowess throughout December by consistently maintaining production at its designed capacity of 270,000 tonnes per year. Simultaneously, preparations for the loading of the latest 22,000-tonne shipment to Glencore are underway, complete with a provisional premium price. Notably, Glencore has committed to prepaying 50% of the shipment's value, recognizing the unique and valuable nature of Sigma Lithium's Quintuple Zero Green Lithium concentrate.

Sigma Lithium garnered significant recognition at COP28 for its Quintuple Zero Lithium, hailed as the most sustainable lithium globally. The company has positioned itself as a pioneer in carbon neutrality within the industry, leveraging 100% renewable power and implementing innovative dry-stacked tailings practices that result in zero net carbon emissions.

Looking forward, Sigma is poised for expansion, with plans to enhance its mineral resource on the Grota do Cirilo property. Phase 4 of this expansion initiative aims to increase the total mineral resource to 110 million tonnes, while Phase 5 is anticipated to add an additional 20 million tonnes to Sigma's growing portfolio. Moreover, the company is gearing up for earthworks associated with the Greentech Plant expansion.

CEO Ana Cabral-Gardner expressed pride in the company's accomplishments, emphasizing, "We have delivered on our promises and achieved what seemed impossible at times, such as attaining Carbon Neutrality 27 years ahead of the metal and mining industry. Our team's dedication has transformed lives and laid the foundation for technological and environmental innovation."

The positive impact of Sigma's operations extends beyond the confines of the company itself. Ligia Seca, director of institutional relations at Sigma, highlighted that over 13,000 individuals in communities near Sigma's operations are benefiting from the company's investments. She underscored Sigma's role in opening new opportunities for Brazil to participate in global sustainable supply chains for battery materials, contributing to the broader goals of environmental sustainability.

Sigma Lithium distinguishes itself as a prominent global lithium producer with a commitment to producing carbon-neutral, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable chemical-grade lithium concentrate. The company's dedication to innovation, environmental responsibility, and community engagement not only positions it as a leader in the evolving landscape of sustainable lithium production but also contributes to shaping a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for the industry.
