revalyu Resources, a global leader in chemical PET recycling, has commissioned its second advanced PET recycling plant at its Nashik site in India, significantly boosting production capacity to meet growing customer demand. This expansion allows the facility to recycle more than 20 million used PET bottles each day, generating 160 tonnes of high-quality PET chips and polymer daily. These recycled materials are utilized across diverse industries, including packaging, textiles, automotive accessories, and other PET copolymer-based products, helping customers achieve their sustainability goals.

The development is part of a $100 million investment plan that includes a third plant currently under construction. The new plant, set to be completed by Q3 2025, will increase capacity by 120 tonnes per day, bringing the site’s total recycling capacity to around 35 million bottles daily and boosting production output to 280 tonnes per day. Revalyu’s patented glycolysis-based recycling technology ensures operations are optimized, scalable, and environmentally friendly, using 75% less water and 91% less energy compared to conventional PET production.

Dr. Vivek Tandon, Founder of Revalyu Group, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of their technology, stating, “This is a revolutionary moment for the PET recycling industry. We now have a scalable, profitable, and sustainable recycling solution capable of converting used PET plastic into virgin-grade PET polymer. This achievement is thanks to the dedication of our team, partners, and customers. We look forward to collaborating with global partners to expand our reach and deliver sustainable solutions.”

Jan van Kisfeld, Managing Director of Revalyu Group, highlighted the milestone's significance for global plastic circularity, noting that the process enables continuous recycling of PET into high-quality polymer suitable for any polyester or PET application. “Our new plant proves the commercial viability of this technology on a global scale, with an impressively low environmental footprint,” Kisfeld said. “This supports customers in achieving their sustainability targets while ensuring product quality.”

Makarand Kulkarni, CEO of Revalyu India, echoed the strategic importance of the Nashik site. “This facility underscores our leadership in the PET recycling sector. Our scalable and replicable chemical recycling technology gives customers a competitive edge and represents a game-changer for the industry. We are committed to exploring collaborations globally to expand our reach and create new market opportunities.”

Looking ahead, Revalyu plans to establish a 240-tonne-per-day PET recycling facility in the U.S. by 2027. With strategic partnerships, the company aims to increase global production to over 1,000 tonnes per day by 2030, solidifying its role as a leader in sustainable PET recycling.
