RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. ("RecycLiCo" or the "Company") (TSX.V: AMY | OTCQB: AMYZF | FSE: ID4), a leader in sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling technology, is excited to announce its engagement of Hatch Ltd. to offer consulting services for the Stage 2 battery recycling plant. This facility will be operated in Taiwan by RecycLiCo Zenith Battery Materials Technology Co., the Company's joint venture with Zenith Chemical.
Hatch will support the Company in evaluating the design plan for the plant developed by Kemetco, the joint venture’s primary contractor and RecycLiCo’s long-standing partner. As previously stated, RecycLiCo will oversee the construction of a modular facility in Vancouver (initially with a capacity of 2,000 mt/year), which will then be transported to Taiwan and commissioned there. Upon approval, the design plan will serve as the foundation for a formal construction agreement between the joint venture and Kemetco, with construction expected to begin later this year.
Richard Sadowsky, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Company, commented, "We are thrilled to partner with Hatch on this project. Their extensive engineering and business expertise will be invaluable as we advance beyond the venture stage and deliver a commercially viable and effective recycling solution to the industry."
The joint venture’s cutting-edge battery recycling technology will process black mass and black powder into high-value products, including battery-grade lithium chemicals and precursor cathode active material (pCAM). This positions the joint venture at the leading edge of advanced battery recycling solutions and supports global efforts to develop sustainable energy sources.
RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. is a company focused on sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling and materials production. The company has developed advanced technologies that effectively recover battery-grade materials from used lithium-ion batteries, meeting the global demand for eco-friendly energy storage solutions. Utilizing a patented, closed-loop hydrometallurgical process, RecycLiCo achieves up to 99% recovery of lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese with minimal processing steps. This process converts battery waste into high-quality cathode precursors, lithium hydroxide, and lithium carbonate, which can be directly used in the manufacturing of new lithium-ion batteries.
