As per ChemAnalyst latest assessment, the price for recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (R-PET) have witnessed a subtle upward trend in the global market amidst the sturdy demand from the packaging sector. The rising consumer's inclination towards reducing the carbon footprint for the environment's sustainability has been a driving factor for the market's growth. The upstream PET plastic is in high demand for textiles and is the most common type of plastic utilized in liquid bottles and food packaging, thriving the market dynamics of recycled PET.

In the USA, diverting supplies to other countries harmed the plastic manufacturing business, resulting in a plunge of 1.4% from last month in prices of R-PET Pellets Clear Flakes, shows ChemAnalyst data.

A leading recycling firm has proposed a new initiative to ensure the circular economy by focusing on the significant constraints for recycling PET. It will include the improvement of the PET recycling infrastructure, and the provision of fresh R-PET supplies to package manufacturers. However, the US recycled plastics sector is experiencing a shortfall of scrap plastics, requiring material imports from other Asian and North American countries. Moreover, European nations' restrictions on Russia for natural gas have prompted the United States to respond.

Furthermore, demand for R-PET bottles is increasing in Europe, with major market participants developing recycling facilities in the area. The analysis shows that In Germany, prices have risen by 2.6% entering June 2022 compared to last month due to great demand for R-PET food and beverage containers from the bottling and packaging industries in the summer season.

Additionally, In China, the price of R-PET has increased a little by 0.5% owing to a steady upstream Polyethene Terephthalate market. After two months of lockdown restrictions, commercial operations in China have recently restarted, and industrial output is coping up to fulfill demand from the bottling and packaging industry.

As per ChemAnalyst, the prices of R-PET are expected to climb due to more demand from its downstream packaging industries. Upstream PET pricing with high input costs is also projected to significantly influence worldwide demand and supply of Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate.
