On January 23rd, ProLogium Technology, a global pioneer in solid-state battery innovation, marked a momentous occasion with the inauguration of its Taoke factory. This event, attended by distinguished guests including Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Chih-Ching Yang, Director of the French Office in Taipei Franck Paris, and Taoyuan City Mayor Shan-zheng Zhang, along with a French delegation from Dunkirk, commemorated the unveiling of the world's first Giga-scale solid-state lithium ceramic battery facility. Key strategic partners such as Mercedes-Benz, POSCO, FEV, Arkema, and banking institutions from both Taiwan and France were present to witness this historic milestone.
A significant highlight of the event was the revelation of a 106Ah solid-state battery, manufactured with a high-silicon anode at the facility, specifically designed for electric vehicles. ProLogium not only showcased its proprietary manufacturing technology for solid-state batteries but also emphasized the commercial viability of the next-generation battery structure.
This innovative battery structure not only ensures a high level of safety but also sets the stage for continuous improvements in lithium battery performance. Future advancements in materials are expected to enhance driving range, maximize resource utilization, and reduce costs, achieving an optimal balance between "Performance," "Cost," and "Resource Circulation."
Breaking away from the industry's previous perception that solid-state battery production is highly challenging and costly, ProLogium has expanded production capacity while consistently upgrading through process iterations for commercially competitive solid-state batteries. The Taoke factory's output efficiency is 2.6 times greater than its original facility, boasting doubled assembly speed and innovative manufacturing technologies.
Among ProLogium's patented technologies are hundreds of techniques aimed at improving product yield, covering cell structure and process design. The original "Logithium™" structure and corresponding process have successfully addressed potential yield issues in solid-state batteries, significantly enhancing alignment accuracy during the manufacturing process. The company has achieved a remarkable yield target of 99.9% for single-layer cells on the trial production line, with ongoing optimization at the Taoke factory.
The strategic partnership with France and ProLogium's inclusion in the "France 2030" plan align with the French government's vision for developing energy-efficient transportation. Franck Paris, Director of the French Office in Taipei, expressed his excitement, stating, "ProLogium has put Taiwan on France’s map and put France on Taiwan’s map." He emphasized the significance of today's grand opening, not only for business but also for the potential of Taiwan-France cooperation and their role as leaders in the global green economy. Paris pledged full support from the French government to ProLogium, marking this grand opening as a symbol of success and collaboration between Taiwan and France in innovation, creativity, and transformation.
