Polymer Solutions GmbH, a subsidiary of Krall Kunststoff-Recycling GmbH, has bolstered its recycling capabilities with the acquisition of a former Mocom GmbH & Co. KG recycling site in Erlenbach, Northern Bavaria. The acquisition, effective January 1, 2025, marks a significant milestone for Polymer Solutions as it expands its operations to meet growing industry demands for sustainable plastics recycling. The site will initially operate using its existing recycling lines, which have an annual processing capacity of 5,500 tonnes. The primary focus will be on reprocessing industrial polyamide into high-quality recycled pellets and regrind for the plastics industry.

The Erlenbach facility covers approximately 4,000 square meters and will be managed by Jörn Bahr, a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in the plastics industry. Bahr highlighted the site’s strategic value in advancing the company’s mission to deliver sustainable solutions. “This facility allows us to scale our operations, improve our offerings, and deliver high-quality recyclates that meet the rising market demands for sustainable materials,” Bahr stated.

Markus Krall, Managing Director of Krall Kunststoff-Recycling GmbH, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition as part of the company’s forward integration strategy. “This move strengthens our position in the plastics recycling market and allows us to further contribute to the circular economy,” Krall explained. He also highlighted the synergy between the two companies, which enables them to offer a complete recycling cycle — from waste collection and grinding to the production of ready-to-use recyclates. “Our business partners will benefit from this integrated approach, which enhances efficiency and supports the growing demand for sustainable plastics,” Krall added.

Krall Kunststoff-Recycling GmbH, a family-operated business established in 1992 in Elsenfeld am Main, Germany, specializes in recycling transparent plastics such as polycarbonate and PMMA, alongside technical plastics and CDs. With a facility spanning 12,000 square meters across six halls, the company processes around 8,000 tonnes of plastic annually. Powered by solar energy, its operations include two shredders and ten grinders, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices.

Polymer Solutions GmbH is a key player in the field of plastics recycling, focusing on the production of regranulates and compounds. As a subsidiary of Krall Kunststoff-Recycling, the company combines extensive industry expertise with state-of-the-art technology to deliver customized recycling solutions for clients across various sectors.

By acquiring the Erlenbach site, Polymer Solutions enhances its ability to provide sustainable and innovative recycling services, reinforcing its role as a leader in the transition toward a circular economy. This acquisition underscores the company’s dedication to sustainability and its commitment to addressing the increasing demand for recycled materials in the global plastics industry.
