During the first half of March 2025, the Polyacrylate Rubber price inclined due to the strong demand in China. India, which mainly imports Polyacrylate Rubber from China, also experienced an uptick in prices. The raw material cost was declined in both China and India. However, solid Chinese demand aligned with supply chain constraints, contributed to rising prices in both markets which directly affecting India's import costs for Polyacrylate Rubber.

In China, the price inclination was continued from the month of February for Polyacrylate Rubber, driven by increased raw material Acrylic Acid prices which led to high production cost. Collectively, this factor made Polyacrylate Rubber more expensive for end-use customers.

Demand for Polyacrylate Rubber used in the automotive industry showed steady growth. Though demand had slowed in some sectors like coatings, adhesives but the automotive industry in China was firm, which assisted in sustaining production and price of Polyacrylate Rubber during this timeframe.

In February 2025, Polyacrylate Rubber prices increased by 1.4% in India as a result of rising raw material prices which limited domestic production. Supply chain disruptions constrained domestic market while raw material Acrylic Acid prices were also being impacted by global price increase. Ultimately, the combination of these factors pushed prices of Polyacrylate Rubber up in the Indian domestic market.

The consumption for Polyacrylate Rubber from the automotive sector in India saw a steep drop with automotive sales down by 17.12% due to the slump in passenger and commercial vehicle sales. Weak consumer sentiment, inventory mismatches, and increased inflation have caused this drop in demand in the automotive sector. The actual demand decreased but the increased costs of imports were a considerable factor in the increased prices of ACM despite the overall decline in the automotive sector.

As per ChemAnalyst, over the next few months Polyacrylate Rubber prices to continue to rise in India and China. In India, Polyacrylate Rubber prices are likely to remain elevated as high costs of raw materials drive up local costs. Furthermore, as India relies on imports from China, home of a still strong automotive sector, the imports will also be more expensive than usual. In China, demand from the automotive sector is sustained, and rising production costs due to rising raw material prices will put continued upward pressure on ACM prices. Given the global situation, it is likely that we will see higher prices for polyacrylate rubber in both markets in the near term.
