In June, the prices of Amlodipine Besylate experienced a significant decline globally, contrasting with the upward trend seen in the previous month. This price drop can be attributed to a weakened demand from the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, amid ample supply in the market. Manufacturers and distributors, holding sufficient stock of Amlodipine Besylate in their warehouses, are looking to offload their inventory at lower rates as the second quarter comes to a close.

According to recent data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China's manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) held steady at 49.5 in June 2024, the same as in May. This PMI figure suggests a challenging outlook for the world's second-largest economy. Despite ongoing expansion in output, the pace of recovery remains fragile and in need of further reinforcement. The market demand continues to be weak, as reflected by the new orders index, which dipped slightly to 49.5 in June from the previous month. This decline has also contributed to a decrease in Amlodipine Besylate prices.

Given China's predominant role as the leading exporter of Amlodipine Besylate, a similar trend is observable in Western markets. Additionally, the surge in shipping costs due to the Red Sea crisis has significantly disrupted the purchasing strategies of many customers. This cautious approach has further weakened demand, putting considerable downward pressure on Amlodipine Besylate prices. Moreover, it has led to financial difficulties for numerous customers and suppliers. To cope with these challenges and avoid excess inventory, they have been forced to lower prices to stimulate sales, thereby reinforcing the downward trend in Amlodipine Besylate prices.

In Germany, preliminary estimates for the year-on-year inflation report for June indicate a decline to 2.2%, down from 2.4% in May, according to the Federal Statistical Office. This decrease was primarily driven by a reduction in goods inflation, which fell to 0.8% in June from 1% in May, and a drop in energy costs to -2.1% in June from -1.1% the previous month. The resulting lower operational costs for businesses were passed on to consumers in the form of reduced prices, contributing to the downward trend in Amlodipine Besylate prices.

Meanwhile, in the USA, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decided to maintain the federal funds rate in June, keeping the target range between 5.25% and 5.50%. The Federal Reserve aims to reduce inflation by raising interest rates without triggering a recession, a challenging balance known as a "soft landing." Higher interest rates increase borrowing costs for both companies and consumers, slowing economic activity and overall demand, which in turn exerts downward pressure on Amlodipine Besylate prices.

According to ChemAnalyst analysis, the prices of Amlodipine Besylate are expected to continue declining in the coming months due to consistently weak demand from end-consumers. Consumer caution amid inflationary concerns, exacerbated by factors like the Red Sea conflict, is likely to contribute to this downward trajectory in Amlodipine Besylate prices.
