Petrofac Ltd., headquartered in St. Helier, U.K., has announced a significant milestone achieved by its Consulting team based in Woking, U.K. The company has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by TotalEnergies EP Nederland BV to deliver front-end engineering design (FEED) services for a CO2 injection platform aimed at advancing industrial decarbonization in the Netherlands. This new project involves the decommissioning of existing topsides and the installation of a repurposed platform, which will connect to the Aramis CO2 distribution network.

Earlier this year, Petrofac was also awarded a FEED contract for the design of a 32-inch CO2 trunkline, which includes onshore, landfall, and offshore sections, along with an offshore CO2 distribution hub platform for the Aramis system. This ongoing project underscores Petrofac’s established expertise and success in the carbon capture and storage (CCS) sector on an international scale. The additional contract awarded to Petrofac highlights the company's growing proficiency in tackling the complexities and opportunities associated with large-scale CO2 capture, transport, and storage projects.

John Pearson, Chief Operating Officer for Energy Transition Projects at Petrofac, emphasized that this latest award reflects confidence in the company's capability to provide essential engineering and project delivery expertise across the CCS value chain.

Pearson noted, "This award showcases our ability to contribute significantly to projects that support the CCS sector. As part of the broader Aramis development, this project is crucial to the Netherlands’ goal of capturing millions of tonnes of CO2 from industrial sources. We are extremely proud to play a key role in achieving these ambitious environmental objectives."

Overall, Petrofac’s involvement in these projects underscores its commitment to advancing industrial decarbonization efforts and supporting global sustainability goals through innovative engineering solutions and expertise in the CCS domain.
