Petrobras plans to invest a total of $111 billion over the next five years, with $98 billion allocated to ongoing projects and $13 billion earmarked for new initiatives.

Of which, it plans to invest $77 billion in its exploration and production segment, to explore new areas of oil production. Notably, Petrobras wats to maintain its position as a major global oil and gas producer, targeting an average production of 3.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2029.

It will invest $20 billion in refining and transportation segment. An additional $2.6 billion in exploring natural gas and power and $16.3 billion in expanding low carbon initiatives. This is a 42% increase compared to the previous term’s plan. This investment will be directed towards areas such as renewable energy, biofuels, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).

The company will prioritize financial discipline, maintaining a strong balance sheet and generating robust free cash flow to support its investment plans and dividend payouts.

Apart from this, Petrobras’s long-term strategy includes its accelerated transition towards low-carbon energy sources. Petrobras is committed to a sustainable future, prioritizing environmental responsibility and social impact. The company aims to reduce its carbon footprint by adopting sustainable practices across its operations, while also prioritizing the well-being of its employees and communities through social and economic development initiatives.

The company plans to explore opportunities in renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, invest in biofuels production including ethanol, biodiesel, and biomethane, investigate the potential of low-carbon hydrogen, and implement carbon capture, utilization, and storage projects.

By executing these ambitious plans, Petrobras aims to secure its position as a global energy leader while contributing to a more sustainable future.
