Atlantic Lithium Limited, a company focused on lithium exploration and development in Africa, is pleased to announce that the Minerals Commission of Ghana has issued a Mine Operating Permit for its flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project. This permit represents the final regulatory approval required before construction can begin on the Ewoyaa Lithium Mine and Processing Plant. It is a significant milestone as the company approaches its Final Investment Decision.

The company is now awaiting the ratification of the Ewoyaa Mining Lease by Ghana's parliament, which is expected to resume sessions on October 15, 2024. Atlantic Lithium will keep shareholders informed of any developments regarding the parliamentary process.

Neil Herbert, Executive Chairman of Atlantic Lithium, commented on the news, stating: “The issuance of the Mine Operating Permit is a critical milestone in the permitting process for the Ewoyaa Lithium Project and marks the final regulatory approval required before construction can commence. With this, we are one step closer to achieving our goal of producing lithium in Ghana.”

Herbert also expressed optimism about the upcoming parliamentary ratification, saying, "We eagerly await the ratification of the Ewoyaa Mining Lease, which we hope will occur during the upcoming parliamentary sitting. This would pave the way for the construction and operation of this globally significant lithium project."

The Ewoyaa Lithium Project is positioned to be Ghana's first lithium mine, contributing to the country’s growing role in the global lithium market. The project’s development is a major step toward Atlantic Lithium’s goal of producing lithium in Africa, a key material in the clean energy transition and the growing electric vehicle market.

The company will continue to engage with regulatory authorities and stakeholders as it progresses towards first production. The completion of these regulatory steps will allow Atlantic Lithium to move forward with its plans to establish a world-class lithium mine in Ghana, contributing to the local economy and the global shift towards sustainable energy.

Atlantic Lithium, listed on AIM, ASX, GSE, and OTCQX, is advancing its flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, a major spodumene pegmatite discovery, towards production as the country’s first lithium-producing mine.

The Definitive Feasibility Study for the project outlines the production of 3.6 million tonnes of spodumene concentrate over a 12-year mine life, positioning it among the largest spodumene concentrate mines globally.

Awarded a Mining Lease in October 2023, the project is being developed under an earn-in agreement with Piedmont Lithium Inc. In addition to Ewoyaa, Atlantic Lithium holds a portfolio of lithium projects covering 509km² in Ghana and 771km² of tenure in Côte d'Ivoire, including highly prospective, under-explored licenses.
