NioBay Metals Inc. is excited to share that the second set of laboratory results from its Foothills Project has confirmed high titanium dioxide (TiO2) grades in rock outcrops located in the northern region of the property. The results indicate the presence of substantial ilmenite depositsThe Foothills Project, located north of Saint-Urbain, roughly 100 km from Québec City and 90 km south of Saguenay (La Baie region), Québec, covers an area of approximately 285 km² and comprises five separate claim blocks. It covers much of the contact area of the Saint-Urbain anorthosite intrusive zone.
The recent exploration campaign, conducted in the summer of 2024, involved the collection of 150 samples by IOS Services Géoscientifiques Inc. teams. These samples were taken primarily from surface rock outcrops in sector 2 and the northern part of sector 3. The analyses revealed TiO2 concentrations exceeding 30% in several outcrops. NioBay Metals has submitted an application to the Ministry of Natural Resources for authorization to proceed with a drilling campaign. This drilling is planned for sector 1, located on the private lands of the Séminaire de Québec, pending approval.
David, President and CEO of NioBay Metals, commented, “We are thrilled to announce the latest results from our exploration work on the Foothills Project, particularly from sectors 2 and 3. We have once again identified excellent titanium concentrations in rock outcrops, with significant ilmenite presence in several areas of the northern part of zone 3. This discovery has led us to expand our drilling sites to include zone 3 along with zone 1. We look forward to sharing additional results from the remaining exploration zones in July.”
The ongoing work at the Foothills Project underscores NioBay’s commitment to advancing its exploration and development efforts, aiming to unlock the potential of its significant titanium resources.
