NHK Spring a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery and equipment, has announced that it will discontinue the manufacture and sale of all chemical products, specifically special polyurethane foam products, by the end of March 2025. As part of this transition, the company has reached an agreement to transfer its chemical products business to Toyo Quality One Corporation, effective from April 1, 2025.

The decision to exit the chemical products segment includes the termination of production and sales of several polyurethane foam products. These include Super Seal, Super Sheet, Nippalay, Insuron, and FOREA. NHK Spring expressed its gratitude for the support received over the years for this business but noted that the move aligns with its broader strategic objectives.

The business transfer agreement was signed on December 9, 2024, marking the official start of the transition. From April 1, 2025, Toyo Quality One Corporation, a well-established company in the foam manufacturing sector, will take over the production and sales of the aforementioned products.

Toyo Quality One Corporation, based in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, has been in business since 1935 and specializes in manufacturing various types of foam, including polyurethane foam (PUF), asphalt foam, plastic foam, and other foam-processed products. The company, headed by Toshiaki Seki as President, has a strong track record in the foam industry and boasts a share capital of 800 million yen ($5.32 milliion).

NHK Spring emphasized that the transfer of its chemical products business is expected to have a marginal impact on its consolidated financial results. As a result, the company has confirmed that it does not foresee any significant adjustments to its financial forecast for the year.

In a press release, NHK Spring expressed its appreciation for the continued support from customers and stakeholders regarding its chemical products business. The company stated, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your warm support over the years regarding this business. We are confident that Toyo Quality One Corporation will continue to provide high-quality products and services in the polyurethane foam segment.”
