Monadelphous Group has secured a significant contract valued at around $102 million for the construction of Chemical Grade Plant 3 at Talison Lithium's Greenbushes site in Western Australia's southwest region. This contract encompasses a broad range of services, including the establishment of a new crushing and screening facility, the construction of a lithium concentrate processing plant, as well as related activities such as tank and piping fabrication, and electrical supply.

The project is slated to commence on-site later this year, with completion anticipated in the first half of 2025. Over the decades, Greenbushes has witnessed continuous upgrades and expansions of its mining and processing operations. These enhancements have been driven by the ever-growing demand for lithium minerals and have involved the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies. The addition of this third chemical grade lithium processing facility at Greenbushes will empower Talison to continue supplying its shareholders' downstream lithium processing facilities, both in Western Australia and in China.

This substantial contract signifies a pivotal moment for Monadelphous Group, as it underscores the company's expertise and capacity to contribute to the thriving lithium mining and processing sector in Western Australia. The state has emerged as a global hub for lithium production due to its rich lithium deposits, and Monadelphous is now positioned to play a pivotal role in furthering this industry's growth.

The scope of work outlined in the contract is extensive and covers multiple facets of the lithium processing facility. First and foremost, a state-of-the-art crushing and screening facility will be constructed. This component of the project is critical as it is responsible for preparing the mined lithium ores for further processing. The crushing and screening process involves breaking down the ore into smaller, more manageable sizes, which is a crucial initial step in the lithium production chain.

The contract includes the establishment of a lithium concentrate processing plant. This facility will play a central role in transforming the prepared lithium ore into valuable lithium concentrate. The process typically involves various stages of separation and purification to achieve the desired quality and chemical composition of the concentrate, which is a key feedstock for various lithium-based products, including batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

Furthermore, the contract encompasses the fabrication of tanks and piping. Tanks are essential components for storing and transporting liquids within the processing plant, while piping systems facilitate the flow of materials between different parts of the facility. Ensuring the quality and integrity of these components is critical for the safe and efficient operation of the entire processing plant.

The electrical supply aspect of the contract is equally vital, as it encompasses the installation of electrical systems that power the entire facility. Reliable and robust electrical infrastructure is crucial for the smooth operation of a processing plant, particularly in an industry that demands precision and consistency in its operations.

Overall, this contract win marks a significant milestone for Monadelphous Group, positioning them as a key player in the lithium processing industry in Western Australia. With work scheduled to commence later this year and expected to be completed by the first half of 2025, the company is on track to contribute to the continued growth of Talison Lithium's Greenbushes operations and the wider lithium supply chain, which is vital for the expanding electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors.
