Milaha and Qatar Steel Sign 5-Year Global Services Agreement

Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. ("Milaha"), a leading provider of maritime and logistics solutions, has signed a 5-year agreement with Qatar Steel, Qatar's premier steel-making company. This partnership will enable Milaha to provide comprehensive stevedore services, facilitating the import and export of Qatar Steel's manufactured products. The agreement underscores Milaha's expertise in logistics and its commitment to supporting Qatar Steel's operational efficiency and global trade activities, enhancing both companies' capabilities in the maritime and steel industries.

As per the agreement, Milaha will provide Qatar Steel with a full suite of logistics and lifting services.  This encompasses supplying trailers, forklifts, and skilled personnel to streamline operations at Qatar Steel's dedicated berth within Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC). This collaboration ensures efficient and effective management of Qatar Steel's import and export activities. This collaboration aims to streamline Qatar Steel's import and export processes, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency at the industrial hub.

Under the new agreement, Milaha will utilize its extensive logistics expertise to provide comprehensive stevedoring services for Qatar Steel’s product handling. This includes managing the export and import of various products such as rebars, billets, and coils. Milaha's scope of services will encompass the provision of essential equipment like trailers and forklifts, as well as deploying skilled manpower to ensure efficient handling and processing. This strategic collaboration is designed to enhance the logistical efficiency of Qatar Steel, facilitating the timely and effective delivery of its products to global markets and supporting its operational goals.

Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Steel expressed satisfaction with the newly signed agreement with Milaha. He described the partnership as a crucial advancement in enhancing the efficiency of their import and export operations. Al-Abdulla highlighted the strategic alignment of this collaboration with Qatar Steel’s goal of improving agility and effectiveness in their global supply chain. He emphasized that the partnership supports their broader business strategy of expanding international market reach, thereby contributing to Qatar’s economic growth and reinforcing their commitment to providing exceptional value to customers globally.

Fahad Bin Saad Al-Qahtani, Milaha’s Group Chief Executive Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new agreement with Qatar Steel, highlighting it as a testament to Milaha’s dedication to supporting national projects and contributing to Qatar's economic growth. He emphasized that the agreement aligns with Milaha's commitment to bolstering the national economy and Qatar’s development. Al-Qahtani also praised Milaha’s Logistics Centre of Excellence for its proven expertise in maintaining robust supply chains and assured that they are eager to offer comprehensive stevedore services, including the import and export of products, to ensure seamless and efficient operations for Qatar Steel.
