Messer, renowned as the world's premier provider of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, has inaugurated a cutting-edge production facility in Estella, situated in the Navarre region of Spain. This new plant is dedicated to filling various types of gases, including industrial, food-grade, medical, and specialty gases, into cylinders and bundles. The strategic location of the facility enables efficient distribution to Messer's esteemed clientele across northern Spain. With this expansion, Messer reinforces its commitment to delivering top-notch gas solutions while catering to diverse industries, ensuring reliable supply chains and exceptional service for its customers.

The inauguration of the new cylinder gas filling plant has spurred economic growth in the region, generating 25 new employment opportunities both directly and indirectly. With a robust production capacity of 250,000 gas cylinders annually, the plant serves as a cornerstone for sustainable development, as it operates solely on renewable energy sources. Notably, the facility is set to obtain accreditation as a pharmaceutical laboratory, enabling the production of medical-grade gases. Looking ahead, plans are underway to incorporate additional filling lines geared towards the burgeoning market for green hydrogen, positioning the plant as a hub for innovative and eco-friendly gas solutions.

In his opening remarks, Rubén Folgado, Managing Director of Messer in Spain, emphasized the significance of a new investment, citing its role in bolstering Messer's competitiveness and advancing its growth strategy within the Iberian Peninsula. Highlighting the indispensability of their products in various industrial processes, Folgado underscored their contributions to safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes. The event, attended by over 100 distinguished guests, featured prominent regional authorities such as María Chivite, the President of Navarre, and Alicia Echeverría, the Government Delegate. Among the attendees were also Mikel Irujo, the Regional Minister for Industry, Environment, and Digital Change, and Marta Ruiz, the Mayor of Estella. Folgado's address underscored Messer's commitment to innovation and partnership, signaling a significant milestone in the company's journey towards sustainable growth and leadership in the region.

Stefan Messer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and third-generation shareholder of Messer, and Virginia Esly, CEO of Messer Europe, recently extended a warm welcome to guests, celebrating the company's remarkable journey spanning over 125 years. With a workforce of approximately 11,500 individuals across Asia, Europe, and America, Messer has cultivated a legacy of success. Stefan Messer highlighted the company's robust development in Spain and emphasized its promising trajectory of growth, reflecting Messer's steadfast commitment to excellence and innovation.

Virginia Esly highlighted Messer's resilience and success in Europe, emphasizing the company's investment in Navarre as part of its strategy for profitable growth. María Chivite, President of Navarre, praised Messer's investment in Estella for its job creation and positive impact on the community. She commended Messer's commitment to reducing environmental impact through decarbonization solutions and renewable energy initiatives, expressing optimism about the planned green hydrogen filling plant in Estella. Chivite's remarks underscored the significance of companies like Messer in driving both economic development and environmental sustainability.
