McDermott has been awarded a substantial Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Hook-Up, and Commissioning (EPCI) contract by Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited. This contract signifies a pivotal role for McDermott in the development of the Manatee gas field, located approximately 60 miles offshore the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago. The project scope encompasses the comprehensive execution of the field's infrastructure, underscoring McDermott's capabilities in delivering large-scale offshore projects.

The award of this contract comes on the heels of McDermott’s successful delivery of the front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, and long lead procurement services for the Manatee gas field development project. Under the newly awarded scope, McDermott is tasked with designing, procuring, fabricating, and commissioning a platform and jacket that will serve as the project's primary offshore infrastructure. The company will also be responsible for the design, installation, and commissioning of a 32-inch gas pipeline, which will create a vital link between the offshore platform and Shell's onshore gas processing facility.

Additionally, the contract includes the design, procurement, installation, and testing of a fiber optic cable, crucial for ensuring effective communication and operational monitoring between the platform and the processing facility. This comprehensive scope reflects McDermott’s role in advancing the project from planning to operational execution, underscoring its commitment to delivering integrated solutions for Shell’s gas field development needs.

This contract award underscores our ongoing commitment to Trinidad and Tobago, highlighting our dedication to supporting the future supply of gas for both domestic use and export markets. By partnering with Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited on this significant project, we reaffirm our investment in the region’s energy sector and contribute to its long-term growth and stability.

Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott's Senior Vice President of Subsea and Floating Facilities, noted that the award highlights McDermott's distinctive, integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) capabilities. He emphasized the company’s longstanding tradition of engineering excellence and innovation, which has enabled it to successfully deliver large offshore platforms and intricate subsea infrastructure globally. Swaminathan pointed out that the Manatee project is a continuation of McDermott's successful track record with Shell and underscores the company's dedication to constructing essential energy infrastructure to meet growing global demand.
