Clariant to Expand its Maleic Anhydride Catalyst Production in China

Clariant, the double-digit-million Swiss Franc investment has announced that it is planning to expand the capacity of its catalysts production plant in Panjin, Liaoning province, Northeast China. Clariant is into SynDane MA catalyst production since 2007 as a joint venture with North Huajin Chemical Industries Group Corp., one of China’s leading petrochemical companies .This project will enable Clariant to meet the dynamically growing global demand for Maleic Anhydride, as production is expected to rise from 1.75 million tons in 2018 to 2.07 million tons in 2021. Maleic Anhydride is widely used in polymers and coatings used in the construction, marine, automotive, and energy sectors.
