LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB) has partnered with CORADIN and Dermalogica to develop a more sustainable solution for the GREENIS® Dispenser, utilizing its innovative CirculenRecover solution for the acclaimed packaging.

In pursuit of this goal, CORADIN and Dermalogica collaborated with LYB to identify the most suitable Post-Consumer Resin (PCR) for this rigorous cosmetics application, balancing both functionality and aesthetics.

LYB delivered a premium solution utilizing its CirculenRecover polypropylene (PP) polymer, crafted from plastic waste via mechanical recycling. This solution achieved an ideal blend of performance, aesthetics, and recycled content. The innovative Greenis® Dispenser, containing over 75% PCR, garnered several accolades, including the 2024 World Star Winner Award in the Health & Personal Care category, recognized for its recyclability, sustainability, ergonomic design, and waste reduction features.

"The GREENIS® Dispenser exemplifies the potential of recycled materials to substitute traditional fossil-based feedstock, enhancing circularity and environmental sustainability within the packaging sector," stated Paula Sanabria, Senior Director of Marketing & Commercial Development for Circular and Low Carbon Solutions at LYB. "We are pleased to play a role in the development of innovative recycled products that not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also enhance consumer experience through improved product ergonomics, functionality, aesthetics, and reduced weight."

This partnership showcases the potential of collective endeavors in our sector: delivering a sustainable, top-tier, lightweight, user-friendly, and e-commerce-compatible award-winning product, while reducing reliance on fossil resources. Through collaboration, we can contribute to mitigating plastic waste in the environment and foster the development of solutions for sustainable daily living.

"The development of the GREENIS® Dispenser project is the outcome of a robust collaboration between the environmentally conscious Californian brand Dermalogica and UNILEVER Prestige Brands. LYB played a crucial role in identifying the optimal recycled material, which enabled us to overcome various technical challenges associated with this innovative packaging. Within CORADIN, LYB is highly regarded as a valued partner, renowned for its high-quality polymer materials and exceptional support," stated Florence Bidamant, Associate General Manager & CCMO at CORADIN. " Receiving four awards highlights recognition from packaging experts and inspires the CORADIN team to persist in their work and innovation."

"In sustainability partnerships, everyone emerges victorious," remarks Aurelian Lis, CEO of Dermalogica. "As frontrunners in the professional skincare sector, it's imperative that we develop intuitive, premium packaging solutions that uphold the health of our planet. Through collaboration with forward-thinking partners, we can enact substantial changes that positively influence both our industry and the environment."
