Lummus Technology, a global leader in process technologies and energy solutions, has announced a landmark achievement with the awarding of its first commercial contract for superabsorbent polymer (SAP) technology. The agreement, signed with SHCCIG Yulin Chemical Co., a subsidiary of the SHCCIG Group, marks a significant milestone in Lummus' strategy to expand its portfolio and establish a strong foothold in the high-value polymer market.

The contract will see Lummus provide its SAP technology for a new 40 KTA (kilotons per annum) unit at SHCCIG Yulin’s state-of-the-art complex in Shaanxi Province, China. This project will be the first commercial deployment of Lummus' SAP technology since it was integrated into the company's offerings in 2023. With SAP widely used in hygiene, health, and consumer products, this collaboration taps into an industry experiencing exponential growth in demand worldwide.
