Global Losartan Potassium prices started to decrease going into H2 of Q1 2023 on the back of sufficient supply and sluggish demand. Chinese demand is still recovering from periodic shutdowns despite minor steps to ease its zero-tolerance COVID policies. The US may see more interest rate hikes to combat inflation, which has suppressed domestic demand, and Europe enters the new year facing a recession amid high energy prices and inflation, with no end to the Russia-Ukraine war.

In January, the price of Losartan Potassium in China rose because the demand from end-user industries increased significantly under the pressure of low inventory. The supply of Losartan Potassium was relatively short, supporting the price's rise. After the country decided to cut back its strict zero Covid measures, the world's second-largest economy is returning to life. China's manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) increased from 50.1 a month earlier to 52.6 in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, signaling that China's industrial activity rose to its highest level. The effect of the recovery in production by manufacturing companies led to sufficient supply in the Chinese domestic market. Therefore, Losartan Potassium prices decreased on the last trading session of the month, ending on February 24.

The prices of Losartan Potassium are also reduced in other nations, such as the US and Germany, which follow a similar pattern to China. Retailers in the US and German markets saw a decline in buying activity this month due to lower inquiries from the end-user producer. In order to increase their inquiries and reduce their existing stock, the domestic merchants decreased their prices. Coupled with this, demand for Losartan Potassium continued to be lower than expected because buyers are in a wait-and-see mood to watch out for how the price trend will play out in the future.

According to the ChemAnalyst team, sufficient supplies of Losartan Potassium are expected to push prices lower across the globe over the next several weeks. However, demand from the end-user sector will remain weak as it is still in recovery mode, dampening Losartan Potassium sentiment. Meanwhile, sentiment in European countries will likely depend on the severity of the recession and its impact on demand.
