Linde, a global leader in industrial gases and engineering, has announced the successful startup of its new air separation unit (ASU) in Indonesia. This significant investment of $120 million marks a milestone in Linde's expansion in Southeast Asia and underscores the growing demand for industrial gases in the region.

The state-of-the-art ASU, the largest in Indonesia and Linde's largest in Southeast Asia, is now supplying oxygen and nitrogen to PT Freeport Indonesia's new copper smelter and refining facility in Manyar. This world-class facility is poised to become one of the largest copper processing sites globally.

"We are thrilled to support PT Freeport Indonesia's expansion and contribute to the growth of Indonesia's industrial sector," said Moloy Banerjee, President, ASEAN & South Asia, Linde. "Our new ASU, equipped with advanced technology, will not only enhance the efficiency and productivity of PT Freeport Indonesia's operations but also benefit other industries in East Java by providing reliable and sustainable gas supplies."

Linde's investment in this project aligns with its commitment to sustainable development and reducing environmental impact. The new ASU is designed to minimize emissions and optimize energy consumption, contributing to a greener future.
