Lhyfe, a global leader in green hydrogen production, OX2, one of Europe’s largest onshore wind developers, and Velarion, a pioneering company in the green fertilizer sector, are collaborating to establish a hydrogen-based industrial cluster in Ånge municipality. Located in Grönsta, just north of Torpshammar, this project will integrate wind power with large-scale green hydrogen production, aiming to create carbon-negative and neutral products. The partnership reflects a significant step towards advancing sustainable industrial practices and reducing carbon emissions in the region.

OX2 and Lhyfe are collaborating to develop a sustainable energy project in Marktjärn, Torpshammar. OX2 will construct a wind farm with an annual production capacity of 1.4 TWh, while Lhyfe will install a hydrogen production unit capable of producing up to 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per day using electrolysis. This green hydrogen will be powered by the renewable electricity generated by the wind farm, promoting a sustainable and clean energy solution.

Velarion, a key partner, will construct one of the world's first carbon-neutral fertilizer plants within this cluster. This cutting-edge facility will use green hydrogen to produce green ammonia, significantly reducing carbon emissions in fertilizer production and meeting the growing demand for sustainable products.

Together, Lhyfe, OX2, and Velarion are creating a pioneering industrial cluster in Ånge, utilizing cutting-edge technology and renewable energy to establish the region as a green hub. This collaboration is expected to generate significant long-term benefits, positioning Ånge as a key player in the sustainable industrial sector. By attracting more companies and fostering innovation, the cluster will not only boost local economic growth but also contribute to global sustainability efforts. The initiative highlights Ånge's potential to lead in green technologies and sustainable production, setting a new standard for industrial development.

Anders Nilsson, Head of Onshore Wind at OX2, expressed excitement about the potential of the project, emphasizing its ability to utilize electricity from the Marktjärn wind farm to power a green industrial cluster. He highlighted that this initiative will not only enable sustainable local industry but also enhance Ånge's attractiveness for further industrial developments, positioning the municipality as a key player in the green economy.

Sara Wihlborg, Country Manager Sweden at Lhyfe, mentioned that the project's large production capacity has led to dialogues with several companies interested in refining hydrogen and its by-products. These collaborations are anticipated to build a robust local ecosystem, contributing to the region's economic growth and job creation, further solidifying Ånge's role as a leader in sustainable industrial practices.
