Lhyfe, a global leader in green and renewable hydrogen production, and Fives, a prominent industrial combustion specialist, have signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to offer a comprehensive decarbonized solution for industry, covering hydrogen production through to combustion processes.

This initiative accelerates the energy transition by enabling the use of hydrogen in process industries without requiring extensive equipment modifications. Lhyfe plans to manufacture and deliver green hydrogen, while Fives will provide enhanced and reliable solutions for its use in industrial combustion processes.

Recently, hydrogen combustion, known for emitting no CO2, has emerged as a highly promising solution for reducing the carbon footprint of industrial processes.

As acknowledged leaders in their respective fields, Lhyfe and Fives will primarily target the metals, glass, and cement industries, as well as selected industrial heating processes and applications in Europe and North America.

Lhyfe is a global leader in producing environmentally friendly hydrogen using renewable energy sources. The company employs electrolysis to produce green and renewable hydrogen, with its initial site operational since the latter half of 2021. In 2023, Lhyfe opened two new sites, with several others either under construction or expanding across Europe.

Fives is a global leader in industrial engineering, boasting over a century of experience in industrial combustion. With over 50 years of technological leadership in hydrogen, Fives develops advanced technologies throughout the entire value chain. Through its ITAS, North American, and Pillard® brands, Fives provides the broadest array of proven hydrogen burners available, catering to various industries.

Matthieu Guesné, Founder and CEO of Lhyfe, stated, "We are at a critical juncture in the industrial sector, especially in industrial combustion. After years of development, hydrogen solutions are now mature and widely available in the market. We are pleased and excited to enter into this agreement with Fives, a company that is actively advancing energy transition in the glass, cement, and metals industries by offering comprehensive solutions tailored to their processes."

Frédéric Thrum, Deputy General Manager of Fives and President of the Energy Division, expressed, "As a leader in decarbonization, Fives assists industrial companies in their energy transition, especially in adopting hydrogen. Our advanced combustion systems are designed to minimize the environmental footprint of our global customers. We are honored to collaborate with Lhyfe to address the pressing challenges of climate change and enhance the sustainability and efficiency of industrial processes."

Lhyfe is a European company committed to energy transition, specializing in the production and distribution of green and renewable hydrogen. Through its production facilities and ongoing projects, Lhyfe aims to facilitate widespread access to green and renewable hydrogen on an industrial scale. This effort supports the development of a sustainable energy model capable of significantly reducing carbon emissions across various industrial and transportation sectors.
