Mali: The Goulamina Lithium project, which is situated in southern Mali's Bougouni Region, is anticipated to begin producing in the first half of 2024. A $348 million mining services contract for the Goulamina Lithium project in Mali has been given to Corica Mali, a division of Corica Mining Services, by Leo Lithium. The Goulamina Lithium Project in Mali is being developed by Leo Lithium one of the largest spodumene mines in the world. Goulamina will be the first spodumene producer in West Africa and is scheduled to provide the first spodumene concentrate by the middle of 2024 to service the burgeoning lithium-ion battery industry.

The open-pit Lithium mine's pre-production activities will be covered by the contract for six months, after which it will have a set duration of five years. Grade control, drill and blast, load and haul, and ore feed services are all included. Throughout the term of the contract, the planned yearly material transportation is anticipated to fall between 18 and 20 million tonnes.

The Goulamina Lithium project, which is situated in southern Mali's Bougouni Region, is anticipated to start producing in the first part of next year, with construction already well along. Leo Lithium claims that Corica Mining Services has already mobilized to the location under an early works contract, For Direct Shipped Ore, it is now engaged in preliminary stripping operations and offers mining and crushing services.

According to Leo Lithium, the contract for the mining company owned by Africans was awarded via a competitive tendering procedure and due diligence, based on safety, experience, capability, equipment availability, and cost. Corica Mining Services, an Australian-based pure-play Lithium company, has been active in the West African region for more than 20 years and employs over 2,000 people.

Additionally, Corica Mining Services is actively working with several mining companies listed in Australia and Canada to provide large-scale mining services. These deal with seven mines in Mali and its neighboring countries, Burkina Faso and Cote d'Ivoire.

Corica as mining services contractor following an extensive tender process, Leo Lithium managing director Simon Hay said. Corica, which has a long history and a significant presence in Mali, will significantly increase local job and supplier prospects.

Leo Lithium has made substantial strides towards its objective of beginning spodumene concentrate production in the first quarter of 2024, now that a mining contractor has been appointed. With DSO operations starting this quarter, look forward to a long-term partnership with Corica.
