KBR has announced that it has been awarded a significant global agreement by BP International Limited (bp) for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) services on January 13. This new contract marks a continued and expanded collaboration between the two companies, building on their successful 70-year working relationship.
The contract will see KBR providing EPCM services for a range of projects in both conventional energy and new energy sectors, including onshore, offshore, greenfield, and brownfield projects. The agreement spans a period of three years, with the option for a two-year extension. This agreement underscores KBR’s ability to support BP’s global operations and strategic initiatives in both the traditional energy space and in emerging energy technologies.
As part of the agreement, KBR will provide BP with market-leading licensed technology solutions, showcasing the company’s broad range of capabilities and its ability to cater to the growing energy demands of the future. The partnership is designed to address the energy transition, with KBR offering advanced technology and services to support BP’s efforts to enhance both its conventional energy projects and its growing portfolio of sustainable energy initiatives.
Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are delighted to continue our 70-year successful working relationship with BP while maintaining our record of safely and effectively delivering quality projects in conventional and new energy sectors.” Ibrahim highlighted KBR’s track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects across the world, emphasizing the company's expertise and proven ability to handle projects in diverse geographical and technological environments.
The scope of the new agreement significantly broadens KBR's role with BP, as both companies expand their cooperation beyond just engineering services, a relationship already established under an ongoing global agreement. KBR has previously played a crucial role in various BP projects across multiple regions, including the U.S., the North Sea, Iraq, Africa, and Azerbaijan.
