Jiujiang Tianci Resource Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. has recently received approval for its waste lithium battery recycling project, which was officially publicized through an Environmental Impact Report issued by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment. The project, situated in the Jinshawan Park within Jiangxi Hukou High-tech Industrial Park, represents a major renovation and expansion of the company’s existing facility. The initiative includes the construction of six advanced processing systems aimed at achieving comprehensive recycling and resource recovery from waste lithium batteries.
The core of the project focuses on developing a series of critical systems, including the reconstruction of a waste lithium iron phosphate battery material resource recycling system, a waste lithium iron phosphate battery pack cascade utilization system, and a waste lithium battery and pole piece pretreatment system. Furthermore, the project will introduce an iron phosphate wet recovery system, a nickel cobalt manganese salt production system, and a lithium carbonate production system. These newly developed systems will use a variety of waste materials, such as waste lithium iron phosphate batteries, waste ternary lithium batteries, and waste lithium iron phosphate positive electrode plates, as their raw inputs. After undergoing complex treatment processes, the systems will generate valuable resources, including second-use battery packs, high-purity lithium carbonate, battery-grade lithium carbonate, battery-grade iron phosphate, nickel cobalt manganese sulfate, and a new by-product, sodium sulfate.
The renovation and expansion of this facility are set to greatly enhance the recycling capacity and technical capabilities of Jiujiang Tianci Resource Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. in the field of lithium battery recycling. Once the project is completed, it is expected to significantly increase the company’s production capacity. The new systems will enable the production of 2,570 tons of secondary battery packs per year, along with 30,000 tons of high-purity lithium carbonate, 3,261 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 20,000 tons of battery-grade iron phosphate, and 8,000 tons of nickel-cobalt-manganese sulfate annually. Moreover, the expansion will generate an additional 26,041 tons of by-product sodium sulfate each year.
This substantial increase in production capacity will not only contribute to the growing market for recycled lithium batteries but will also create significant product value for Jiujiang Tianci Resource Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. By enhancing its technical and operational capabilities, the company aims to fully meet the increasing demand for lithium battery recycling products, which are essential for the continued growth of the electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors. The project also highlights the company's commitment to sustainable resource management and its role in addressing the global challenge of waste battery disposal and resource recovery.
