Working towards its long-devised strategy to move from commodity to specialty products, Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL), has recently launched its IPA based hand sanitizer under the brand name ‘CORORID’. In response to the strong shift in market dynamics towards the high-quality hygiene products, DFPCL which has been the largest producer of Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA) in India, has now decided to shift its focus towards hand sanitizer production. DFPCL holds 75 per cent share in India’s market for IPA, one of the essential ingredients used in hand sanitizers and rubbing alcohol. The company’s initiative is dedicated to deal with the unprecedented surge in the demand for disinfecting agents due to rising COVID-19 cases in India. ‘CORORID’ stands as an effective anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal agent with remarkable disinfectant properties and witnessed a significant spike in its demand since its launch in the mid of April 2020. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, there has been an enormous rise in the number of hand sanitizer players in India, however, DFPCL assures that ‘CORORID’ strictly complies to the recommended standards set by WHO and serves all the applications related to ‘Hygienic Hand Disinfection’ and ‘Surgical Hand Disinfectant’. In one of his recent interviews, Mr. Sailesh C. Mehta, DFPCL’s Chairman & Managing Director stated that the company is tenaciously working towards strengthening its distribution network alongside its pharmacy and hypermarket value chains, trade routes and e-commerce channels to make the product easily available on PAN India basis. In addition, the company is also eyeing on IPA based downstream sectors to maintain its strong hold to its end users.  The company has received all necessary approvals regarding the development from Maharashtra FDA and the product is available in varied packaging sizes such as 500ml, 1l, 5l, 10l, 20l, 25l, 200l and tanker load.
