Iowa Allocates $3.4 Million to Enhance Accessibility of E15 Fuel

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program (RFIP) has taken significant steps to encourage the growth of ethanol and biodiesel accessibility throughout the state. This is demonstrated by the recent endorsement of 74 project proposals, obtaining more than $3.4 million in cost-sharing funds for Iowa's fuel retailers.  Notably, this quarter marks a significant milestone, with a record-breaking 73 ethanol cost-share projects receiving funding to increase the accessibility of E15 fuel throughout Iowa. Additionally, the board approved one application for a new biodiesel terminal project, further enhancing the state's biodiesel infrastructure.

Upon completion, these approved projects will contribute to the diversification of fueling options, particularly for E15 and biodiesel blends, in 38 different counties across Iowa. This expansion aligns with the growing trend of Iowans embracing E15 fuel, which offers lower costs compared to traditional gasoline.
