On November 29, 2023, Borealis made public its agreement to procure a 100% stake in Integra Plastics AD, a prominent player in advanced mechanical recycling headquartered in Elin Pelin, Bulgaria, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Today marks the announcement of the successful finalization of the transaction between the two companies.
Operating since 2019, Integra Plastics AD boasts a contemporary advanced mechanical recycling facility equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, boasting an annual production capacity exceeding 20,000 tons. With the capability to convert post-consumer waste into premium-quality polyolefin recyclates suitable for demanding applications, Integra Plastics AD significantly enhances Borealis' specialty and circular portfolio, empowering the company to cater to the burgeoning customer demand for sustainable solutions.
