INOX India Ltd (INOXCVA), a global leader in cryogenic technology solutions, has secured a major contract from Island Power Producers Limited (IPP) to design, engineer, and supply a Mini LNG receiving and regasification terminal in The Bahamas.

The new terminal will boast a storage capacity of 15,000 cubic meters of LNG. This will make it the largest Mini LNG terminal ever built by INOXCVA and the biggest installation of shop-built double-walled vacuum insulated LNG storage tanks globally. According to their presser, the contract includes supplying 10 vacuum insulated storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1,500 cubic meters. These will be the largest double-walled vacuum insulated tanks ever manufactured by the company.

This project will also be the first Mini LNG terminal dedicated to providing shore power to cruise ships in the region.

The terminal will supply natural gas to IPP's 60 MW combined cycle power plant, which will provide shore power to cruise ships docked at the Nassau Cruise Port. Additionally, the terminal is expected to serve as a model distribution hub for smaller LNG users throughout The Bahamas, supporting power generation and other energy needs.

Speaking about the feat, Siddharth Jain, Promoter and Non-Executive Director, INOX India Ltd said, "We are proud to play a key role in ushering the growing adoption of LNG globally. This project represents the largest Mini LNG Terminal ever built by us and will be a model application for LNG distribution and consumption. Our innovative design and modularized concept will ensure a faster project implementation."

Chris Satterfield, Director at IPP resonated with his sentiments and said, "Working with INOXCVA on this state-of-the-art terminal allows us to provide a template for secure, affordable, and sustainable LNG-based power supply throughout The Bahamas. This project will reduce our carbon footprint and create opportunities for the country and region."
