Inflection Resources (CSE: AUCU) and Fleet Space unveiled a partnership on Wednesday aimed at pioneering the application of space technology and AI to expedite the discovery of substantial copper-gold deposits within Australia’s Macquarie Arc.
The initiative utilizes Fleet Space’s advanced mineral exploration technology, which includes real-time ambient noise tomography (ANT) survey capabilities. This is part of a large-scale geophysical survey conducted in New South Wales under an exploration agreement with AngloGold Ashanti. According to the company, this collaboration represents the world’s largest ANT copper survey.
Fleet Space, the developer and operator of microsatellites that support their comprehensive mineral exploration solution known as ExoSphere, was recognized last year by the Financial Review as Australia’s fastest-growing company.
Inflection and Fleet Space have commenced an 1,800 km² ANT survey utilizing the ExoSphere solution across Inflection’s range of projects in New South Wales, all of which are encompassed within the exploration agreement with AngloGold.
Inflection reported discovering multiple new priority targets beneath a thick layer of sedimentary cover that conceals the underlying, potentially valuable geological formations at their Duck Creek project in New South Wales.
Inflection's goal with the survey is to gather extensive 3D subsurface data to detect possible cross-arc structures that guide fluid flow and frequently dictate the placement of significant intrusive bodies and mineral systems.
The results from the survey will be integrated into Inflection's ongoing analysis of the Macquarie Arc, which is covered by a layer of post-mineral sediment. The objective is to prioritize existing drilling targets and identify new ones based on these findings.
"In a press statement, Inflection CEO Alistair Waddell highlighted that ExoSphere's comprehensive capabilities and its 3D subsurface insights at our Duck Creek project have swiftly pinpointed multiple new high-priority drilling sites. This underscores ExoSphere's ability to expedite data-driven exploration across our projects."
Waddell added that ExoSphere will scale up its deployment across Inflection's projects in the Macquarie Arc, harnessing Fleet Space's AI-driven prospectivity insights to enhance exploration efforts throughout the porphyry copper-gold region.
Flavia Tata Nardini, CEO of Fleet Space, emphasized that without significant advancements in copper discoveries, humanity's shift to renewable energy and the development of essential infrastructure for the global AI industry would be unattainable.
"We take pride in conducting the largest mineral exploration survey using ambient noise tomography to support Inflection's data-driven exploration of the Macquarie Arc."
Inflection is a mineral exploration company specializing in copper and gold, driven by technical expertise.
