INEOS Styrolution's advanced ABS solution, Terluran® ECO GP35 BC100, boasts a groundbreaking composition with bio-attributed content across all three essential ABS monomers: styrene monomer, butadiene, and acrylonitrile. This innovation represents a significant step towards sustainability in the plastics industry.

At their Technology Days 2024 event held in Lossburg, Germany (March 13-16, 2024), Arburg, a prominent worldwide provider of plastic processing machinery, opted to showcase the sustainable ABS Terluran® ECO GP35 BC100 from INEOS Styrolution. This selection served to highlight the prowess of Arburg's newest generation of ALLROUNDER injection molding machines.

During the event, Terluran® ECO GP35 BC100 was put to the test on two of Arburg's premier injection molding machines: the ALLROUNDER 520 H and the ALLROUNDER 1300 T. These machines offer substantial cost and resource-saving benefits, enhancing production efficiency while reducing energy consumption and water usage. The ALLROUNDER 1300 T, in particular, showcases versatility by facilitating the molding of plastic components alongside non-plastic materials, exemplified by the integration of a metal blade in a vegetable slicer.

Terluran® ECO GP35 BC100 stands out not only for its eco-friendly composition but also for its compliance with stringent food contact regulations, including those set by the EU, FDA, China, and Japan. Notably, it is the world's first fully bio-attributed ABS grade, leveraging renewable feedstock in alignment with an ISCC-certified mass balance approach. This approach optimizes the use of renewable resources while minimizing the product's carbon footprint, resulting in a remarkable negative carbon footprint for this high-performance material.

The drop-in nature of INEOS Styrolution's material, combined with Arburg's cutting-edge injection molding machines, offers customers a compelling, cost-effective, and sustainable solution. This synergy between innovative materials and machinery heralds a new era of environmentally conscious manufacturing practices.

Arburg's Technology Days provided an ideal platform to witness the seamless integration of Arburg's efficient machines with INEOS Styrolution's ABS material, boasting the lowest CO2 footprint. It served as a testament to the industry's commitment to sustainability and technological advancement, paving the way for greener, more efficient production processes.
