India is all set to cross another milestone in its journey of expanding the oil and gas sector with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the annual India Energy Forum by CERA Week today. India is a crucial player in the global oil and gas sector, being the third-largest consumer of crude oil and the fourth-largest importer of LNG in the world. The meet is aimed at realizing the country’s full market potential and actualizing its sharp transition from a passive consumer to an active stakeholder in the global oil & gas value chain, thereby bringing it much closer to accomplishing its Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. In the annual roundtable event organized by NITI Aayog and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Prime Minister will interact with the CEOs of 45 leading global oil and gas companies some of which include CEOs & experts of renowned companies like Lyondell Basell, Tellurian, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, JERA, Emerson and X-Coal, including major Indian oil & gas companies on Monday. Key global oil & gas stakeholders would include personnel from middle eastern oil & gas giants such as Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), OPEC Secretary General, UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and many others.
