Hynfra Establishes Presence in Jordan to Construct Green Ammonia Factory

Europe: Poland's Hynfra and Jordan's Fidelity Group have teamed up to establish Jordan Green Ammonia L.L.C., with the primary objective of constructing a green Ammonia plant in Jordan's Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ). Hynfra P.S.A., which specializes in integrating energy transformation and complete decarbonization technologies, designs facilities for generating and utilizing renewable Hydrogen and Ammonia, renewable heat sources, and green energy. Fidelity Group, which focuses on investments in the industrial sector, particularly in oil and chemicals, collaborates with top energy producers and suppliers of petroleum and petrochemical raw materials in the MENA (Middle East-North Africa) region. It has branches in the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, and one of its completed projects is the chemical complex Hydrogen Fluoride Plant in Abu Dhabi.

The Jordanian project has the potential to play a significant role in decarbonizing the global Ammonia market. Renewable Ammonia is expected to entirely replace conventional Ammonia in a few decades. Meanwhile, the demand for Ammonia production is projected to increase by nearly four times by 2050.

Both parties bring their unique expertise to the new company. Fidelity Group has vast experience in constructing chemical plants and expertise in Hydrogen engineering. Hynfra P.S.A. is a partner with extensive competence in green Hydrogen and Ammonia, as well as unique knowledge and connections.

A new project is underway to construct a renewable Ammonia synthesis plant, a photovoltaic farm capable of producing 530 MW, an energy storage facility, an electrolyser, and a seawater desalination plant. The project aims to produce annual Ammonia production between 100,000 to 200,000 tons, with some sold locally and most exported to EU countries. Moreover, the project will be fully energy-independent and zero-emission.

In addition to Ammonia, the project will produce green energy, green heat, Hydrogen, oxygen, industrial steam, and other products through multi-generation technology, strengthening the project's ROI. The plant is scheduled to be operational within five years.

The project will take place at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, a promising location for businesses involved in fertilizer and marine fuel-related sectors due to its attractive business prospects, excellent climatic conditions, and proximity to the Port of Aqaba, which simplifies the transport logistics for manufactured goods.

Hynfa's CEO, Tomoho Umeda, is enthusiastic about the prospects of green Ammonia production in Jordan. The proximity of the port of Aqaba will ensure convenient and effective transport of products, enabling access to both local markets and export to other regions, including Europe. Moreover, Jordan boasts excellent solar conditions and is dedicated to developing renewable energy sources. The country is currently in the final stages of creating its Hydrogen strategy, which aligns perfectly with Hynfa's project.
