Gulf Resources and Incorporation, a major producer of crude salt, bromine and specialty chemicals in SHOUGUANG, China reported that the commercial manufacturing of bromine and crude salt in factories #1 and #7 has been initiated on 3 April 2020 amid high demand for the products from downstream industries. The trial production in these two factories took place in middle of March this year. Owing to the upgraded demand from the market, the company was keen to start the commercial production right after the trial. However, the operational feasibility made the company delay the commencement till the first week of April. According to Gulf Resources, this project will help the company in securing rich finances as the demand is expected to rise in the coming weeks over rising demand for Bromine in disinfectants and sanitizers amid Pandemic concerns. The company is also planning to start trial production at factories #4 and #9 around mid- April and schedule its commercial production at the start of May.
