In the Global Streptomycin Sulphate markets, December offers have been announced with decrement as compared to November levels. Sentiment in the global markets remained pressured by slackening buying activities amid the year-end lull period. Also, the weak outlook for demand and the global economic slowdown continued through December and into early Q1 of 2023.

During December, the Streptomycin Sulphate prices in China for FOB Shanghai dropped by around 2.4% from November. New offers from Chinese domestic producers surprised almost no one in the regional and overseas market, where suppliers expected to see stable-to-softer prices for Streptomycin Sulphate as weak supply and demand fundamentals remained intact. However, China’s steps to broaden relaxations in Covid-19 curbs in response to a massive protest outburst in late November have recently underpinned the market sentiments. Still, demand has remained slow amid buyers’ cautious stance, reversing a firmer trend that kicked off in November.

In Germany, Streptomycin Sulphate prices have witnessed slight decreases this month, which has slowed expectations of a sustained recovery. The recent losses in Streptomycin Sulphate prices, driven by the weak demand, and an expected rise in overseas supply toward the year-end have also played a role in the recent trend. Though, end-user producers in the German markets remained cautious in buying, waiting to hear price discounts before purchasing. Thus, the CFR Hamburg prices for Streptomycin Sulphate are witnessing a decrease of 2.4% on a monthly basis.

In the same timeframe, US domestic traders also adopted a similar pricing policy for December, declaring a 1.9% reduction in Streptomycin Sulphate prices compared to the previous month. The decline is supported by the fast-approaching holidays and continued financial problems. Also, the end-user market still needs more clarity due to a feeble demand outlook.

According to the Chemanalyst team, Global Streptomycin Sulphate markets are positioned to close out 2022 on a weak note as trading activities are unlikely to improve before the year-end. Also, traders are hoping to see better demand conditions next year.
