With the week ending on 14th February, the global Stainless Steel CR Coil market has witnessed a price increase across key regions. In the United States and China, Stainless Steel CR Coil prices have inched up, supported by supply-side constraints and firm demand from the downstream sector. Meanwhile in Germany, Stainless Steel CR Coil prices have followed a similar trajectory, with a minor increase attributed to supply-side disruptions.

The prices of Stainless Steel CR Coil in USA have experienced a slight increase of 0.4%, attributable to nuanced shifts in supply and demand dynamics. According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), domestic raw steel production declined marginally during the last week of January, reflecting low supply levels in the market. On the demand side, the automotive sector continues to be a critical driver.

In January 2025, new vehicle sales reached 1,112,483 units, representing a 3.7% increase compared to the same month the previous year. This growth, largely propelled by strong performances from manufacturers such as Honda, Hyundai, and Kia, highlights the sector’s resilience and its substantial consumption of Stainless Steel CR Coil products.

The prices of Stainless Steel CR Coil in Germany have seen a slight increase of 0.4%, driven by an imbalance between supply and demand. A significant contributing factor to this trend is the shutdown of the electric arc furnace (EAF) at the Georgsmarienhütte Gruppe's plant in Osnabrück, a decision made in response to rising energy costs. This reduction in production capacity has tightened supplies, putting upward pressure on prices.

On the demand front for Stainless Steel CR Coil, the market exhibits resilience. Recent indicators from the Eurozone show a softer contraction in construction activity, hinting at potential improvements soon. Furthermore, the automotive sector is experiencing a shift in negotiation dynamics, with German car manufacturers and their suppliers reevaluating their strategies.

The prices of Stainless Steel CR Coil in China have experienced a minor increase of 0.3%, influenced by evolving dynamics of supply and demand. There are noticeable supply constraints, as annual imports have declined, with major exporters including Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Germany making up nearly 94% of total imports. Additionally, domestic production has also seen a significant year-on-year decrease in steel output, further complicating availability.

On the demand side for Stainless Steel CR Coil, the automotive and home appliance sectors are contributing to this trend, demonstrating significant improvements in operational capacity. Notably, leading manufacturers such as Yongjin Technology Group have reported substantial profit growth, reflecting ongoing demand for precision steel products. With robust domestic and international demand, the market shows resilience, even amidst supply challenges that have resulted in a slight price increase.

According to Chemanalyst, the market for Stainless Steel CR Coil in the U.S. and China may see price increases due to heightened purchasing activity in these regions. Additionally, low supply levels in Germany could further contribute to rising prices for Stainless Steel CR Coil.
