In January 2023, the price of Lopinavir increased globally, primarily due to fresh production and high input cost brought on by strengthening market circumstances. To deal with the rising orders from the end-user producers of pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, the distributors worldwide, particularly in China, Germany, and the United States, boosted their price quotations.
China, a major exporter of Lopinavir, showcased a declining price trajectory during the final month of Q4 2022 due to weak demand, a reduced rate of orders, high inventories, and low consumer confidence. However, prices upsurged in January 2023 as the overall demand from the end-user sector in the domestic and international markets recovered. As the trading atmosphere improved after the year-end holidays amid ease in logistics issues, Lopinavir manufacturers experienced high profitability. Furthermore, the market sentiments were affected by the closing of manufacturing plants for the Chinese Lunar New Year (CNY) in the last week of January. Overall, compared to the previous month in January, Lopinavir prices rose around 1.9% in China.
At the same time, in Germany and the United States, Lopinavir prices inclined in January 2023, on the same note as in China, due to low inventories in both domestic markets. Increased end-user demand kept Lopinavir market sentiments moving northward. Moreover, expensive imports quotation from the Asia-Pacific region kept the prices high in Germany and USA. The dealers and suppliers of Lopinavir had paid great attention to all the factors that had impacted the market. Under this influence, traders raised their prices in the domestic market to maintain their profit margins.
Prices for Lopinavir are anticipated to remain on the higher side in the upcoming months, according to ChemAnalyst. Participants in the industry expect better market fundamentals and a considerable increase in end-user demand. Additionally, buyers and traders are more likely to raise stock levels to satisfy the upcoming demand.
