GACL-NALCO Caustic Soda Project Delayed, Project Cost Increased by INR 300 Crore

In its quarter ending June results revealed on August 11,2020, Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd. (GACL) has highlighted that the progress of its ongoing projects has been adversely affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic with nearly 4 to 6 months delay expected in the commissioning of its scheduled plants. After the announcement of quarterly results, GACL further revealed that there has been upward revision in project cost of GNAL (GACL-NALCO Alkalies & Chemicals) from INR 2000 crore to INR 2300 crore inclusive of GST. The additional cost of GACL- NALCO’s project of 800 TPD Caustic Soda plant at Dahej would be funded by the lenders and promoters in the debt-equity ratio of 70:30.
