ExxonMobil Celebrates the Opening of its Butyl and Resins Plants in Singapore

At its Singapore refining and petrochemical complex, Exxon Mobil has opened two new performance derivative chemical plants, which is companys largest production facility globally. It has a production capacity of 90,000 tones for the resins plant, and 140,000 tons for the butyl plant annually.

The butyl plant manufactures halobutyl rubber which is used in tire manufacturing process.  It began the butyl production in May 2018, and the commercial production is expected to start in the second half of 2019.
