Atlantic Lithium Limited, an exploration and development firm focused on lithium projects in Africa, has achieved a significant milestone with the granting of an environmental permit by Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project. This permit is a crucial approval for the company's proposed activities at the project, as outlined in the Mine and Process Environment Impact Statement (EIS). It marks a pivotal moment in the permitting process, moving the project forward.

The final EIS submission, which incorporated feedback from the EPA and addressed concerns from local communities, reflects a comprehensive review process. The draft EIS, submitted in May 2024, was refined following feedback from two public hearings held in February and June 2024 in the affected communities of Ewoyaa and Krofu. These hearings demonstrated strong local support for the project.

Neil Herbert, Atlantic Lithium’s Executive Chairman, highlighted the significance of the EPA permit. He emphasized that this approval represents a major step toward establishing Ghana’s first lithium mine and underscores the company's commitment to responsible land stewardship. Herbert praised the collaborative efforts with both the EPA and local residents, noting that their support is crucial for the project's success.

Herbert expressed gratitude to the EPA for their guidance throughout the permitting process, which has accelerated the project’s progress. He also mentioned the company’s enthusiasm for moving forward and updating the market on the next steps to ensure the Ewoyaa project reaches shovel-readiness.

This permit approval positions Atlantic Lithium to advance towards construction, marking a significant achievement in their development efforts and paving the way for future progress.

Atlantic Lithium, listed on AIM, ASX, GSE, and OTCQX, is advancing its flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project, aiming to establish Ghana’s first lithium-producing mine. The Ewoyaa project is a significant discovery of lithium spodumene pegmatite in Ghana and is progressing towards production.

According to the Definitive Feasibility Study, the project is set to produce 3.6 million tonnes of spodumene concentrate over a 12-year mine life, positioning it as one of the largest spodumene concentrate mines globally. The project received its Mining Lease in October 2023 and is currently being advanced under an earn-in agreement with Piedmont Lithium Inc.

In addition to Ewoyaa, Atlantic Lithium holds an extensive portfolio of lithium projects spanning 509 km² in Ghana and 771 km² in Côte d'Ivoire. These projects, which include both granted and under-application tenures, feature highly prospective licenses that remain largely unexplored.
