Dow, a global leader in materials science, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Guangdong Delian Group Co., Ltd. at the 7th China International Import Expo, marking a new collaboration aimed at expanding the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins in automotive applications. This initiative aligns with the industry's growing shift towards circular economy principles, enhancing sustainability efforts within the automotive market.

Through this partnership, Delian Group has successfully integrated Dow’s REVOLOOP™ Recycled Plastics Resins into the packaging of auto care products, creating a more sustainable solution that significantly lowers the carbon footprint of packaging by reducing dependence on virgin resins. This milestone represents the first commercial use of REVOLOOP™ resins in the automotive care sector, showcasing the potential of recycled materials in reducing environmental impact.

Bambang Candra, Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics' Asia Pacific Commercial Vice President, emphasized the importance of sustainable materials as resources become scarcer and climate change concerns grow. He highlighted that sustainable packaging in the automotive market can provide consumers with more eco-friendly choices while supporting circular economy goals. Candra also affirmed Dow’s commitment to expanding its REVOLOOP™ Recycled Plastics Resins portfolio to better meet customers’ sustainability demands. "We are honored to work alongside Delian Group to bring REVOLOOP™ to the automotive sector,” he stated.

Xu Tuanhua, Chairman of Delian Group, echoed this sentiment, noting that the partnership with Dow reinforces Delian’s long-standing commitment to energy conservation, emission reduction, and a low-carbon business model. Xu explained that this strategic collaboration not only strengthens Delian Group's position in the automotive market but also addresses the global demand for sustainable products.

The signing of this MoU signifies a key advancement in Dow’s "Transform the Waste" initiative, which focuses on repurposing waste as a valuable resource. Through their joint efforts, Dow and Delian Group aim to drive innovation in recycled packaging solutions for the automotive sector, contributing to a circular economy where materials are continually reused and repurposed. This collaboration is expected to not only enhance the sustainable use of post-consumer recycled resins but also support long-term resource sustainability by minimizing environmental impact. Together, Dow and Delian Group are committed to developing forward-looking solutions that promote a more sustainable future in automotive packaging.
