Cyclyx International, LLC, a leading innovator in converting post-use plastics into valuable feedstock, has made a significant step forward with its final investment decision to establish a second Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC2). This decision marks a major milestone in the company’s efforts to support the creation of a more sustainable plastic circular economy. The new center, a joint venture involving Agilyx, ExxonMobil, and LyondellBasell, will be strategically located at an existing distribution hub in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Once completed, it will play a crucial role in providing the infrastructure necessary for recycling plastic waste and moving toward a more circular model for plastics.

The joint investment from Agilyx, ExxonMobil, and LyondellBasell totals $135 million, which will be directed toward the construction and operation of the CCC2 facility. The center is scheduled to start operations in the second half of 2026. When fully operational, CCC2 will have the capacity to process approximately 300 million pounds of plastic waste feedstock per year. The facility will employ a combination of mechanical and advanced recycling technologies to convert plastic waste into reusable feedstock for various industries. This expansion of Cyclyx’s recycling capabilities is part of a larger effort to address the growing need for recycled materials in both mechanical and advanced recycling sectors, which have seen increasing demand for sustainable feedstock solutions.

The CCC2 facility will not only contribute to recycling efforts but will also generate significant economic benefits for the local community. Similar to the first Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC1), which is progressing toward startup in Houston in 2025, CCC2 is expected to create more than 100 local jobs in the Fort Worth area. Joe Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx, emphasized the importance of this new facility, stating, “This world-class center will greatly enhance our capacity to meet the increasing demand for feedstock used in mechanical and advanced recycling processes.” He also noted that the facility will play a vital role in aggregating and recycling post-consumer, commercial, and industrial plastic waste, much of which is currently destined for landfills or incineration.

Cyclyx’s Circularity Centers are specifically designed to accept a wide range of plastic waste streams, including those that are not typically accepted in current industry recycling programs. This broad scope of accepted materials sets Cyclyx apart from traditional recycling operations. Combined, the CCC1 and CCC2 facilities will be capable of producing an estimated 600 million pounds of plastic waste feedstock annually. This will represent a significant contribution to the growing efforts to create a circular economy for plastics, where materials are reused and recycled instead of being discarded after a single use.

As part of its broader strategy, Cyclyx is actively exploring the development of additional Circularity Centers in key locations across the United States. These new facilities will be strategically placed in major hubs, enhancing Cyclyx’s ability to aggregate and process plastic waste on a larger scale. By expanding its network of Circularity Centers, Cyclyx aims to accelerate the transition to a circular economy for plastics, providing sustainable feedstock solutions and reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste. Through these initiatives, Cyclyx is helping to drive innovation in the recycling industry, creating new opportunities for sustainable growth while addressing one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
