Coolbrook, a pioneering technology and engineering company, and Ambuja Cements, a leading Indian cement producer (part of the Adani Group), have joined forces to implement Coolbrook's innovative RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technology across Ambuja's manufacturing operations. This marks a significant step towards decarbonizing the cement industry, a major contributor to global CO2 emissions.

Revolutionizing Heavy Industries with Renewable Electricity

The first phase of the partnership will see Coolbrook integrate its patented RDH technology into Ambuja's facilities. This groundbreaking technology utilizes renewable electricity to power high-temperature industrial processes, drastically reducing reliance on fossil fuels and boosting energy efficiency.

This collaboration leverages Adani Group's robust renewable power generation capabilities, providing Coolbrook with a unique platform to demonstrate the scalability and transformative potential of its RDH technology.

Coolbrook's RDH technology boasts the potential to reduce global CO2 emissions in heavy industries by a staggering 30%, translating to over 2.4 billion tons annually. Extensive pilot testing has successfully verified the technology's heat-generating capabilities, exceeding 1000°C – significantly surpassing conventional resistive heaters. Furthermore, RDH can reach temperatures as high as 1700°C, a crucial factor for decarbonizing high-temperature processes in heavy industries.

Talking about the partnership, CEO of Coolbrook Joonas Rauramo said, "This partnership is a major breakthrough for Coolbrook. Our innovative electrification technology has the potential to revolutionize heavy industries, and Ambuja Cements' strong commitment to sustainability makes them the perfect partner. By integrating RDH into their operations, we can showcase how renewable electricity can replace fossil fuels in high-temperature processes, setting a new standard for the industry."

Ajay Kapur, CEO of Cement Business at Adani Group said, "Our strategic partnership with Coolbrook aligns perfectly with our commitment to achieving Net Zero targets and strengthens our leadership in sustainable cement production. We continuously seek out innovations that drive efficiency and decarbonization across our value chain. Leveraging Adani Group's green power generation, we can significantly reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, cutting costs and emissions, ultimately delivering the best value for our stakeholders."

Coolbrook

Hailed as a key technology for industrial decarbonization, Coolbrook is a transformative company committed to revolutionizing major industrial sectors like petrochemicals, chemicals, iron and steel, and cement. Their groundbreaking rotating technology combines space science, turbomachinery, and chemical engineering to eliminate fossil fuel dependence across these industries.

Ambuja Cements Limited

A leading Indian cement producer and member of the Adani Group, Ambuja Cements is recognized for its commitment to sustainable practices. The company boasts a production capacity of 89 MTPA with an extensive network of manufacturing plants and grinding units across India. Ambuja Cements is a frontrunner in sustainability initiatives, being the world's first cement manufacturer to join the Alliance for Industrial Decarbonization (AFID).

This partnership between Coolbrook and Ambuja Cements signifies a significant leap forward in decarbonizing the cement industry. With the potential to drastically reduce reliance on fossil fuels and slash CO2 emissions, this collaboration paves the way for a more sustainable future.
