With commencement of the new plant, the company has idled its previous coal-based Methanol plant with a capacity of 200 KTPA.

This new production facility coming onstream is perceived to have no significant effect on the overall Southeast Asian market as the company plans in utilizing it for captive consumption by Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI), Methyl tert-Butyl Ether and Methyl Methacrylate units accounting for around 200 KTPA of Methanol requirement.
