Edmonton [North America]: Celanese Corporation, a specialty materials and chemical manufacturer, has successfully completed a no-waste, low-capital project at its Edmonton facility in Alberta, Canada. Through this initiative, the company has managed to repurpose existing infrastructure and manufacturing assets to unlock additional Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) capacity. This expansion reinforces the substantial growth of Acetyl Chain’s vinyls portfolio.
Expansion of EVA capacity by approximately 35%, slated to take place in the first quarter of 2023. This project is projected to bring an additional $10 million in operating EBITDA every year across our integrated Acetyl value chain, with benefits ramping up through the second quarter.
Celanese is proud to announce the launch of its Acetyl Chain reactor, which offers a more customised approach to product manufacturing. The reactor's unique design allows to produce an extensive range of EVA products, including those used in solar applications, wire and cables, food packaging, medical devices and drug delivery solutions.
Moreover, these EVA products are sold under several names including Ateva EVA and Ateva G Medical Grade. This new technology establishes Celanese as a leader in the industry, providing clients with flexible options that cater to their specific needs.
