Cargill Metals Partners with H2 Green Steel for a long-Term Supply of Sustainable Steel

In 2021, H2 Green Steel was established with the aim of expediting the decarbonization of industries that are challenging to curb emissions. By utilizing a giga-scale electrolyzer, the plant will produce its own green hydrogen and thereby convert iron ore into green sponge iron via direct reduction. This green sponge iron will be utilized in the production of green Steel, achieving an emission reduction of up to 95% compared to conventional Steelmaking processes involving coke and coal in a blast furnace.

H2 Green Steel's aim for a responsible and sustainable supply chain for ferrous metals has led them to partner with Cargill.
