Boomitra has signed a landmark agreement with Alqueria, Colombia’s largest certified B Corp, to champion regenerative agriculture and carbon finance throughout the nation. The initiative aims to transform around 130,000 acres of ranchland by implementing sustainable agricultural practices for over 1,000 dairy farmers. Alqueria will collaborate closely with Boomitra to seamlessly incorporate regenerative practices, offering comprehensive support to participating farmers and ranchers.

This collaboration is set to span 40 years, with revalidation every decade, ensuring a long-term commitment to positive environmental and economic impacts in Colombia's agricultural sector. By fostering sustainable practices and carbon finance, the partnership seeks to drive significant improvements in land management and promote long-term benefits for the agricultural community.

Rafael Alvarez, CEO of Alqueria, highlighted the company's commitment to sustainability and support for dairy producers through innovative initiatives. He expressed pride in leading efforts that reduce carbon footprints while delivering concrete benefits to their agricultural partners. Alvarez underscored the significance of Alqueria’s partnership with Boomitra, noting it as the first collaboration of this global leader in Colombia. This partnership exemplifies the integration of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, aiming to enhance environmental stewardship and support local dairy farming communities.

Colombia’s rich biodiversity, varied agricultural landscape, and significant carbon sequestration potential make it an ideal location for Boomitra’s expansion. The country’s supportive government policies and strong commitment to environmental stewardship further bolster the feasibility and impact of these initiatives. Boomitra’s proprietary technology will quantify the additional carbon sequestered in the soil, and participating Colombian ranchers will receive the majority of revenue from carbon credit sales. This revenue can be reinvested into their lands and communities, creating a sustainable cycle of environmental and economic benefits.

Aadith Moorthy, founder and CEO of Boomitra, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Alqueria, describing it as a crucial advancement toward their mutual goals of sustainable agriculture and environmental preservation. He highlighted the partnership as a significant move in leveraging Boomitra’s carbon sequestration expertise alongside Alqueria’s established presence in Colombia. Moorthy emphasized the potential to drive positive change for local communities while contributing to global climate change mitigation efforts. He concluded by noting that their joint efforts could establish a model of sustainable development that benefits both environmental and economic interests.

Boomitra’s partnership with Alqueria to promote regenerative agriculture in Colombia is a significant step towards transforming ranchland practicesThe long-term, 40-year agreement, with decadal revalidations, underscores a commitment to sustainable impact. Boomitra’s technology will accurately measure carbon sequestration, allowing ranchers to earn and reinvest revenue from carbon credits. This approach not only supports environmental stewardship but also provides economic benefits to local communities, creating a model for sustainable agricultural development and carbon finance in the region.
